Frequently asked
Questions patients ask.
Do you take Medicare and commercial insurance?
Yes. Medicare Part B covers flu, pneumococcal, COVID-19, and hepatitis B for at-risk patients at no cost. Part D and commercial plans typically cover shingles, Tdap, and the rest of the routine list. We verify your specific benefit before administering — no surprise bills.
How long does the appointment take?
Plan on 20 minutes total: 5 to verify insurance and complete the screening, 1 for the injection itself, and a 15-minute observation period for any vaccine where it's recommended.
What about travel vaccines?
We carry yellow fever (designated yellow-fever vaccination center, with the official ICVP), typhoid, hepatitis A, Japanese encephalitis, rabies pre-exposure, and more. For complex itineraries, book a 30-minute travel consult — we'll review your trip against the latest CDC advisories and write you a vaccine plan.
Can my child get vaccinated here?
California pharmacists can administer routine vaccines to patients 3 and older without a prescription. For children under 3, we recommend your pediatrician — but we're happy to coordinate records if your kid's school nurse needs an updated CAIR2 entry.
What do I bring?
Your insurance card and ID. If we've vaccinated you here before, that's all. New patients should also bring a list of medications and any known vaccine reactions. We'll add the entry to your CAIR2 record and send a copy to your primary care.
